In the context of the support provided by the United States government to Ecuador, it recently finalized the delivery of various military equipment to the Ecuadorian Army. The equipment and vehicles, including military trucks from Navistar Defense, were received during an official ceremony held on January 25th at the Huancavilca Military Fort in Guayaquil. The event was attended by the Commander of the U.S. Southern Command, General Laura Richardson, and the Chief of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces of Ecuador, Admiral Jaime Vela, along with other military leaders and diplomatic representatives.
As of the current date, it has not been indicated whether this equipment delivery is part of the new agreements reached between Ecuador and the United States, through which the latter would provide material of Russian and Ukrainian origin. These agreements were announced by the Ecuadorian President, Daniel Noboa Azín, within the framework of the State of Emergency currently in effect in the country.
In total, the equipment delivery from the United States to Ecuador consists of various materials valued at $2.4 million, including “six Navistar trucks, engines for boats used in military operations, technological equipment, and training“, as reported by the Ecuadorian Army.
However, the most noteworthy aspect has been the inclusion of the mentioned trucks manufactured by Navistar Defense. According to images released on January 25th, these are Navistar 7000-MV military trucks powered by an International® DT-M8 engine with 300 HP.
