In the framework of the Conference of American Armies held in the city of Puebla, Mexico, the commander of the Paraguayan army, General Manuel Rodríguez Sosa, received the designation of the Permanent Executive Presidency (SEPCEA), for the first time for the period 2026-2027, cycle XXVII.
In preparation for this presidency, General Rodríguez held bilateral meetings with delegations from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, the United States, and Mexico. The Paraguayan delegation is composed of General Rodríguez, Colonel Rosalino Escobar, director of operations of the Paraguayan army, and Colonel Édgar Mendoza, liaison officer of the Paraguayan army to the Conference.
As part of his activities in Mexico, General Rodríguez visited several factories of military equipment of the Sedena (Secretary of National Defense) to observe the manufacturing processes of weapons, ammunition, grenades, and the assembly of armored vehicles.
Currently, the Paraguayan Army has a list of international suppliers to which the Mexican market could be added, in a modernization process that Paraguay has been undergoing since the previous government and will seek to enhance in the current government.
