As part of the planned activities for the twenty-third edition of the FIDAE 2024 International Air and Space Fair, the Chilean Air Force will deploy its combat aircraft, combat support, training, aerobatic, and helicopters for various demonstrations. The event will take place on the northern side of Arturo Merino Benítez Airport, in Santiago de Chile, from April 9th to 14th.

According to the schedule, the Chilean Air Force will conduct aerial and static displays throughout the event, being the host air force of the event. Being the most relevant aerospace event in South America, it’s a great opportunity for sector companies to showcase their innovations, products, services, and capabilities, considering the attendance of potential regional and international clients.

The dynamic demonstrations by the Chilean Air Force will feature F-16 Fighting Falcon Block 50 fighters from Aviation Group No. 3; F-16 Fighting Falcon MLU from Aviation Groups No. 7 and No. 8; F-5 Tigre III from Aviation Group No. 12, and A-29B Super Tucano from Aviation Group No. 1.

On the other hand, rotary wings will be represented by the Bell 412 and MH-60M Black Hawk, both from Aviation Group No. 9, while the colorful display will be provided by the GB1 GameBird of the Halcones High Acrobatics Squadron belonging to the Presentation Group.

The static display will feature Boeing E-3D Sentry airborne early warning and control aircraft, Boeing 767 and 737 transport aircraft, Lockheed C-130, Gulfstream G-IV, DHC-6 Twin Otter, Cessna CJ1, and Casa C212, KC-135 refueling aircraft, along with an unmanned Q900 Hermes aircraft, and the Cirrus SR22T and ENAER T-35B Pillan trainers from the Aviation School.

Additionally, there will be an exhibition of a Schempp-Hirth Nimbus 3DT glider from the Glider Flight Squadron of the Presentation Group, and the Bell UH-1H helicopter that was part of the rescue of the Uruguayan Air Force Fairchild FH-227D aircraft, which crashed in 1972 and is known as “The Miracle of the Andes.
