Representatives from the three branches of the Paraguayan Armed Forces, the Army, the Navy, and the Air Force, gathered in Miami, United States, from March 5th to 9th to finalize preparations for the transnational operation PANAMAX 2024, scheduled to take place virtually in August.
From the Army, Colonel DCEM Rodolfo Núñez, commander of the troops of the General Headquarters of this Command, was present; from the Navy, Captain of the Navy DCEM Carlos Barreto, chief of staff of the War Fleet and commander of the Training Ship Cañonero Paraguay, attended; and from the Air Force, Lieutenant Colonel DCEM Fabio Candia, commander of the Aerotactical Group, participated.
PANAMAX is an exercise sponsored by the United States Southern Command, where a coalition of over 20 Armed Forces from different countries comes together to ensure the free flow of commerce through the Panama Canal; all exercises are based on NATO regulations; this year, for the first time, Paraguay will integrate command posts in the three variables of the exercise: attack, defense, and special operations.
In addition to PANAMAX, Paraguay has been invited to participate in Exercise CRUZEX 2024, where the Paraguayan Air Force will send personnel and aircraft to Brazil to have an active role.
