In the waters of the Beagle Channel, the Argentine Navy carried out a naval training and coastal reconnaissance exercise with the deployment of units of the Fast Boats Group and the Amphibious and Logistics Naval Command.

The ARA “Estrecho San Carlos” (A-22), which is in Ushuaia on duty as a station ship, the speedboat ARA “Indómita” (P-86) and the patrol boats ARA “Barranqueras” (P-62) and ARA “Baradero” (P-61) took part in the exercise.

Under the operational command of the Southern Naval Area, the ships set sail from the military dock Comodoro de Marina Augusto Lasserre of the Ushuaia Naval Base, and began their operations with reconnaissance of the area and various specific points of interest, carrying out towing maneuvers, anchoring maneuvers, maneuvers with smaller vessels and simple evolutions during the navigation, while carrying out role adjustments of the crews.

The purpose of this exercise was to instruct and train the personnel according to the plans in force, in order to deepen the knowledge and skills of the crews to perform safely and efficiently during future naval operations.
