On March 27, with its arrival at the Puerto Belgrano Naval Base, the ARA Rosales corvette of the Argentine Navy completed a stage of training at sea. The activities allowed assessing the readiness of the unit and its crew to be available for future deployments by the Sea Fleet Command. In light of this, it is important to note that another unit of the MEKO 140 Class, the ARA Espora, is currently participating in surveillance and control operations in the Exclusive Economic Zone of the Argentine Republic.

Regarding the training activities carried out by the ARA Rosales, the Argentine Navy stated, “During the sea days, the corvette conducted training in techniques, allowing all operational units to strengthen their specific roles.”

According to the unit’s Commander, Frigate Captain Mauro Gabriel Sabbatini, the objective of the navigation “allows for a general adjustment of roles, emphasizing the new personnel assigned to the corvette. Exercises previously conducted in port were carried out during this opportunity, but this time with all systems in full operation and the ship propelling.”

It is worth noting that, during the year 2022, the ARA Rosales corvette underwent maintenance and updates at the TANDANOR shipyard. Among the tasks carried out at that time were the replacement of 500 linear meters of piping, the provision of new fuel oil purifiers, replacement of naval plate on the hull, as well as routine hull maintenance tasks. This allowed for the recovery of the ship’s operability, which had accumulated nine years without undergoing major inspection and maintenance tasks.
