Yesterday morning (Tuesday 04/09), Super Tucano aircraft from the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) carried out the interception of an unidentified aircraft that had entered Brazilian airspace from Paraguay without proper authorization.
The aircraft, a Cessna 182, was spotted on the border between Paraguay and Mato Grosso do Sul, and was intercepted by two A-29 Super Tucano attack aircraft in coordination with an early warning and control aircraft, the Embraer E-99, all under the direction of the Air Operations Command (COMAE), with the participation of the Federal Police (PF).
Once the aircraft entered Brazilian airspace without a flight plan, it was monitored by COMAE and the PF. From that moment, the Airspace Surveillance Measures (MPEA) protocol was activated, classifying the aircraft as suspicious.
As part of the MPEA, an A-29 aircraft intercepted the Cessna 182, ordering through radio communication and signals to make a mandatory landing in Londrina. However, the intercepted aircraft refused to comply with the order, making a forced landing on a dirt road near Santa Cruz do Rio Pardo.
Once located, the Federal Police took charge of Ground Control Measures (MCS), at which point the pilot was detained and the shipment being transported was placed under custody.
