According to a new statement from the United States Air Force, the B-1B Lancer bombers assigned to the 9th Expeditionary Bomb Squadron have returned to Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, upon concluding Bomber Task Force 24-2 at Morón Air Base, Spain.
The deployed bombers were integrated as part of local procedures, airspace familiarization, and operational environment learning. Additionally, this is part of commitments framed within the NATO alliance and practicing responses in various environments. Under that umbrella, the bombers were deployed under the orbit of Task Force 24-2 (BTS) to conduct missions in international airspace.
During the month-long deployment, which began on March 24th, the B-1Bs and support personnel conducted various training missions alongside allies and partners throughout the European region, including the Czech Republic, Greece, Turkey, and the United Kingdom.
“To maintain stability worldwide, it is essential to have a force capable of operating in diverse environments,” stated Lieutenant Colonel Ryan Stillwell, commander of the 9th EBS.
Finally, during their return mission home, the B-1B Lancers integrated with United Kingdom Typhoons and conducted escort training before leaving the theater of operations.
