The U.S. Army is one of the main participants in the new edition of the Eurosatory defense and security fair. The US Army not only showcases its main combat vehicles but also made present its rotary-wing aircraft.

According to details provided by U.S. Army personnel to Zona Militar, the displayed ground vehicles are part of the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team (3ABCT), a large unit that is part of the 4th Infantry Division.

On the esplanades surrounding Hall 5A of the Paris Nord Villepinte exhibition center, the most relevant armored and combat vehicles of the U.S. force can be found: M1A2 Abrams, M2A3 Bradley, M109A6 Paladin, M142 HIMARS, M1126 Stryker ICV, JLTV, and the Stryker M-SHORAD.

Additionally, the Army Aviation is present with three helicopters: a UH-60V Black Hawk, a CH-47F Chinook, and an AH-64E Apache. These aircraft are part of the 12th Combat Aviation Brigade, an unit whose command is stationed in Katterbach, Germany.

Displaying this equipment not only allows the U.S. Army to showcase its main capabilities but also reflects its commitment to its allies, in this case, France.

Like several of the systems exhibited at Eurosatory, the Bradley, Abrams, HIMARS, Paladin, Stryker, and JLTV combat vehicles maintain a high profile due to the conflict in Ukraine. Although other variants operate on the Ukrainian fronts, modern systems such as the M142 HIMARS (capable of launching GMLRS and ATACMS missiles) and the M109A6 artillery combat vehicle are also in use.

Another noteworthy detail was the presence of the Stryker M-SHORAD, an anti-aircraft and anti-drone defense variant that was incorporated into the U.S. Army only a few years ago. Interestingly, this edition of Eurosatory has featured the presentation and presence of several such systems, developments undoubtedly influenced by experiences in Ukraine and other regions.

In an upcoming publication, we will conduct a detailed analysis of these systems.
