Continuing our tour at the new edition of the Eurosatory defense and security fair in Paris, France, China’s Norinco (China North Industries Group Corporation Limited) has showcased an innovative portfolio of products ranging from combat unmanned aerial vehicles to armored vehicles and artillery systems.
At this event, the Asian giant, which currently supplies its systems to several countries, displayed a range of their current ground vehicles. Exhibits included the VN1 8×8 Wheeled Armored Fighting Vehicle (AFV), the VN 20 Heavy Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV), the 4×4 VP 11 Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle, the VN 16 Amphibious Armored Vehicle, and the VT4 Main Battle Tank.
Regarding artillery systems, the Chinese company presented scale models of the self-propelled howitzers SH8, the multiple rocket launcher system SR6, the Wheeled Self-Propelled Artillery Vehicle GSH15, and in terms of air defense systems, the Skydragon GA29.
Notably, Norinco introduced the ASN 301 FL300A anti-radiation drone at Eurosatory. This UAV is a delta-wing system with a pusher propeller, designed for flying in hostile airspace and detecting radars. Also on display were the Blue Arrow 11A air-to-surface missile system and the portable anti-tank system Red Arrow 12E.
Regarding the Red Arrow 12 system, the missile launcher unit appears similar to the Israeli Spike and the US Javelin FGM-148 systems. The missile launcher container is mounted on a tripod with its fire control unit. The aiming sight is mounted to the left of the missile container. The missile launcher unit can also be mounted on a combat vehicle.
