The Novosibirsk Aircraft Production Plant named after V.P. Chkalov has completed the delivery of the second batch of Sukhoi Su-34 fighter-bombers this year, destined to equip the Russian Aerospace Forces. The announcement, made by UAC and Rostec, comes days after a Ukrainian attack targeted Morozovsk Air Base in Russian territory, a key operational base for the Su-34 Fullback aircraft.
As is customary with announcements from Rostec, the exact number of aircraft in this new batch was not disclosed. However, according to official videos released by the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), it appears that this batch consists of two new units, adding to those delivered in April.
“Rostec’s aviation companies continue to make regular deliveries of military aircraft according to this year’s production plan. A new batch of Su-34s has been delivered to the Russian Aerospace Forces. These bombers are currently in high demand in the area of the Special Military Operation. The capabilities of the aircraft allow pilots to effectively carry out missions in any theater of military operations, using both unguided and guided air-to-ground weapons,” said Vladimir Artyakov, First Deputy General Director of Rostec State Corporation.
Regarding the recent drone attack by Ukrainian forces, it occurred last week targeting Morozovsk Air Base located in the Rostov region, 240 kilometers from the front line. Various satellite images collected by specialized media outlets have confirmed the attack, highlighting its significance as this airbase houses Su-34 Fullback aircraft.
Reports from various Russian Telegram channels confirmed the attack on June 13, noting that no damage was registered to the attack aircraft. Satellite images from recent days also show no visible destruction or damage to the Su-34s.
This incident marks the second time Ukrainian drones have targeted Morozovsk Air Base, with the previous attack occurring in April. These attacks are aimed at disrupting operations as the base serves as a launch point for Su-34s conducting missions against Ukrainian targets.
