While the Ukrainian Air Force awaits the reception of the first F-16s transferred by Western allies, over the past month, the Russian Armed Forces have been focusing and intensifying several attacks on potential air bases that would operate these fighters. This news is significant, as in recent weeks there has been a decrease in updates regarding the arrival of combat aircraft provided by Denmark, the Netherlands, and Sweden.

As reported by Escenario Mundial over the past weekend, the Russian Armed Forces have been using various guided weapons, such as cruise and ballistic missiles, against targets in Ukraine. Specifically, they have targeted several aerodromes and air bases located in the regions of Myrhorod, Poltava, and Kryvyi Rih, which are far from the front lines.

In one of these recorded attacks, carried out with Iskander ballistic missiles equipped with cluster munitions, the destruction of two Sukhoi Su-27 fighters of the Ukrainian Air Force was observed, with potential damage to other aircraft and associated support facilities. The Myrhorod air base was the target of these attacks, located in Poltava Oblast.

These recent attacks, along with others in subsequent days, have raised significant concerns among specialists and analysts regarding the future arrival of the F-16s in Ukrainian territory. As previously indicated, besides the necessary facilities for their operation and maintenance, it is crucial to protect these installations with various air defense systems and associated radars to detect such attacks well in advance.

Following the attack on the Myrhorod air base, the Russian Armed Forces have been using various types of drones for locating, marking, and guiding various types of weaponry against sensitive and strategic targets of the Ukrainian Military.

These recent attacks serve as a warning for the coming months, as it is certain that once the arrival of the F-16s in Ukraine is confirmed, they will become a priority target for the Russian Armed Forces, both for strictly military purposes and for propaganda, aiming to neutralize them both in the air and at their bases.
