On July 22, 2024, the Brazilian Army Commission in Washington (CEBW), subordinated to the Commander’s Office, published Request for Quotation (RFQ) No. 0022/2024 for the acquisition of special engineering vehicles (“VE ENG”).
The scope of the RFQ includes eighteen wheeled vehicles, similar to the TATRA chassis, model T-815, type 7T3R41, with 8×8.1 high mobility traction, for the transportation of heavy bridge modules, maneuvering boats, floating bridge supports, and other materials. The package also includes spare parts and special tools.
The new special vehicles will comprise the Brazilian Army’s IRB (Improved Ribbon Bridge) and LSB (Logistic Support Bridge) systems. According to the Technical Specification Annex QI-DEC 007/2024 from the Department of Engineering and Construction, they must:
- Have extended rearview mirrors for a better field of vision.
- Be painted in military green, matching the color of other Brazilian Army vehicles.
- Allow easy conversion from the standard cabin to an armored model to evolve the vehicle into an armored truck if necessary.
- Be compatible with the existing BAP (Bridge Adapter Pallet) in the Brazilian Army.
The tender will be conducted in the form of an Electronic Reverse Auction, with the award criterion being the lowest overall price. Interested companies must be previously registered in the International Contracting System (SICOI) of the CEBW and submit their proposals by August 29, 2024.
Bidders must offer proposals for all items listed in the Technical Specification Material List.
