According to information shared on its official social media, the Argentine Army has incorporated a batch of Shacman 2190 trucks, which were donated by the government of the People’s Republic of China. These new units, consisting of various modules for field support, will be assigned to the Logistics Support Base in Pigüé, enhancing operational capability in support of activities carried out by the 10th Mechanized Brigade “Lt. Gen. Nicolás Levalle.”
The batch includes five 6×6 trucks equipped with modules for power generation, water purification, kitchen, bathroom, and shower facilities. These trucks are part of the 30-unit donation made by the Chinese government in 2021, which also included a modular hospital manufactured by Kangfei.
At that time, the received Modular Hospital included a tent support vehicle, operations vehicle, first aid vehicle, X-ray diagnostic vehicle, biochemical laboratory vehicle, sterilization service vehicle, power supply vehicle, water supply vehicle, kitchen vehicle, laundry vehicle, oxygen generator vehicle, shower vehicle, and bathroom vehicle.
Based on the Steyr 91 chassis, the Shacman 2190 trucks are equipped with a Weichai WD615-77A diesel engine with a 9.76-liter capacity and a maximum power of 206 kW. Thanks to their load capacity, they can be outfitted with various modules in their cargo area, providing greater versatility for logistical support tasks.
