One of the highlights of the Multinational Exercise CRUZEX 2024 in Brazil is the participation of the U.S. Air Force’s F-15C Eagle fighters. The aircraft arrived over the past weekend at Natal Air Base in northeastern Brazil to join the combined activities that will take place until November 15.
Specifically, the USAF has deployed, for the first time in Brazil, a detachment of four F-15C Eagle fighter jets from the Air National Guard. These are fighter-bombers from the 159th Fighter Wing of the Louisiana Air National Guard, based at the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base in New Orleans.
The presence of the F-15Cs in Brazil is also supported by other support aircraft that have recently arrived at Natal Air Base, such as the C-17 Globemaster III transport aircraft.
As for the activities carried out so far, one of the F-15 Eagles participated in the Media Flight during the early days of the CRUZEX Exercise. It is currently involved in the Familiarization Phase, conducting various reconnaissance flights in the area of operations, as well as joint and formation flights with other aircraft, including the AMX attack planes of the Brazilian Air Force.
