Encontre este articulo de Jane´s, espero sea de utilidad.. Lula seeks new defence doctrine for Brazil By Inigo Guevara 20 September 2007 The Brazilian president has asked his new defence minister to outline a fresh strategy Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has instructed his new Minister of Defence Nelson Jobim to create a planning group that will draw up a fresh defence doctrine. The document - to be titled 'The Strategic Plan for National Defence' - is due to be finalised by 7 September 2008. A working group presided over by the Brazilian Ministry of Defence will include the heads of Brazil's Long-term Planning Secretariat, the Brazilian Air Force, Brazilian Army and Brazilian Navy. The strategy will seek to involve the country's armed forces and domestic defence industry in long-term plans for economic and technological growth. Brazil's armed forces are already involved in several equipment modernisation programmes, but most of these involve second-hand equipment such as remanufactured German Leopard 1A5 main battle tanks (MBTs) for the army and Mirage 2000 fighters for the air force, or upgrades such as P-3BR Orion patrol aircraft and refurbishment of the Niteroi frigates and Tupi (Type 209) submarines. 160 of 407 words © 2007 Jane's Information Group
