As such, Gabbiano radars share a common integration interface and make use of a technology basket that comprises a dedicated control panel (as an alternative to control via a mission computer); mechanically scanned nose and 75 cm or 1.8 m belly antennas; a Receiver/Exciter/Processor (REP) and 20 W (designated as T-20), 200 W (T-200) and 550 W (T-550) transmitters. Of these, the solid-state T-20 configuration is designed for use aboard Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) and small manned aircraft where the available space envelope and weight constraints are "demanding". For its part, the T-200 transmitter takes the form of a fully coherent, air cooled, travelling wave tube equipment, while the T-550 is a more powerful air cooled application. In terms of the radar's REP (and as of May 2011), Selex Galileo has developed a "next generation" unit that is smaller, lighter (less than 6 kg) and less power hungry (less than 50 W) than its predecessor and which is "ready for [the next generation of] digital signal processing". Other generic system features include: low probability-of-intercepta >200 target Track-While-Scan (TWS) capability use of a programmable digital waveform generatorsoftware-driven modes (see following) up to 407 km range in maritime patrol applications.
