[QUOTE="Griffiths911, post: 1302731, member: 7364"] Would someone be kind enough to translate what I have to say into Spanish as Google Translate will not do my language justice: How wonderful an accolade from an esteemed fighter pilot. During the conflict of 1982 I very quickly became aware of the courage and skill the FAA pilots (all types) showed and it is true to say that we (Royal Navy) not only admired and respected them but feared them also. For example, on 22 May 1982 when a FAA Boeing 707 ventured out to find our force I had no idea that it was only equipped with a basic commercial weather radar and no ESM. As I sat watching my radar that day I looked on stunned as this aircraft bravely (at the time we thought stupidly) fly steadily towards our missile kill zone. We were not briefed as to the lack of technical equipment on this aircraft - the type you would certainly expect to find on a Maritime Patrol Aircraft conducting a surface search in a war setting. I take my hat off to those men and thank our dear Lord they survived the encounter with our Sea Dart missiles. This was just one very brave operation I witnessed the aviators of the FAA perform. Argentina should be rightly proud of these men, they are true heroes.
