When we heard what was going on, we presumed like many others that it was an April Fool - after all, who would invade Scotland, for goodness sake?! A real 'wake up and smell the coffee' moment, as was having colleagues coming to find us to say goodbye, a different goodbye to the norm - this was what being in the Armed Forces was actually all about. No longer just a bit of a laugh. Lots of memories from that time - mostly good, plenty of sad, some even funny, like the near fight in Key Markets over a tin of Corned Beef!</blockquote>
