According to the Canadian shipyard, the contract design for the new multipurpose transport vessel for the Chilean Navy was signed in December 2020.</p><p></p><p>Vard Marine (VARD) is a naval architecture and marine engineering company with headquarter in Canada. The company has broad experience in all aspects of ship design including specialized analyses, such as computational fluid dynamics, seakeeping analysis, and finite element analysis.</p><p></p><p>The design contract awarded to Vard Marine will allow the construction of a new multipurpose transport vessel that will replace the LST-92 Rancagua, LST-95 Chacabuco landing ships and AP-41 Aquiles cargo transport vessel.</p><p></p><p>The LST-92 and LST-95 are landing ship built for the Chilean Navy by the Industrial Plant at ASMAR in Talcahuano.
