The project is part of the army's 'Ugarte' modernisation plan.</p><p></p><p><strong><em>Procurement of infantry fighting vehicles, however, is still the service's top priority and officials are considering several solutions including new built and surplus platforms, and tracked or wheeled vehicles, or a mix of both.</em></strong></p><p></p><p>Vehicles proposed to the Peruvian Army so far include the<em><strong> LAV III, YPR-765A1, Marder 1, BTR-80, BMP-1/2, Pandur, M113, and BMR-600 stocks, as well as new built vehicles such as the Arzamas Machinery Plant BTR-80A and Kurganmashzavod BMP-3.</strong></em></p></blockquote><p></p>
