Por CHRIS BV en Defensa.pe nota de JDW de noviembre de 2012 Peru updates anti-tank capabilities The Peruvian Army (EP) has agreed to buy new anti-tank weapons (ATWs), including Rafael's Spike LR and ER missiles, Dynamit Nobel Defence's Panzerfaust 3, and Instalaza's ALCOTAN-100 systems, army sources in Lima confirmed to IHS Jane's. This new equipment is meant to update anti-tank equipment for the EP's units located in southern Peru. The army has operated Spike missiles since 2010, with four companies of the Antitank Group (Agrupamiento Antitanque - AGRUAT) equipped with the Spike LR, along with two companies armed with the Kornet-E system. The AGRUAT is to be fielded with two additional companies of Spike LR and two with Spike ER, while its two Kornet-E companies will be re-assigned to cavalry units and their ATWs are expected to be installed on armoured vehicles. This recent acquisition would also allow the AGRUAT to increase its situational awareness because two Elbit Skylark II unmanned aerial vehicle groups and Rafael Tycoon C4ISR systems are included in the deal. The Panzerfaust 3 rockets - about 1,700 of which are being bought along with 181 launchers - are to be distributed though armoured infantry and special forces units. ALCOTAN-100 systems, which include 660 rockets and 74 launchers, are intended to equip the cavalry and mountain infantry units. Officials said the Panzerfaust 3 acquisition includes Dynarange sights, which allow a 600 m maximum effective range. In addition, the ALCOTAN-100 launchers are to be equipped with Vosel (M2) fire directors, which increase the weapon's precision. Until now the EP's sole light ATW was the Bazalt RPG-7 rocket launcher.
