These include:</p><p></p><ul> <li data-xf-list-type="ul">Augmentation/reinforcement of the PDF.</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ul">Provision of logistic support.</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ul">Provision of armed escorts.</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ul">Augmentation of Naval Service on fishery protection patrols.</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ul">Staffing of Military Posts during periods of PDF deployment.</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ul">Radiological Monitoring.</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ul">Ceremonial Duties at national and local events.</li> </ul><p><span style="font-size: 15px"><strong>Army Reserve</strong></span></p><p><img src="http://www.military.ie/typo3temp/pics/e048c61c2c.jpg" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" /></p><p></p><p>In the majority of locations there is an infantry sub unit, a Company, of an Infantry Battalion. However, in Collins Barracks Cork and Cathal Brugha Barracks Dublin<strong>*</strong>, there are a number of other Corps such as Artillery, Cavalry, Communications and Information Services, Engineers, Military Police,Transport and Medics.</p><p></p><p><span style="font-size: 22px"><strong>TRAINING</strong></span></p><p><span style="font-size: 18px"><strong>Training and Development</strong></span></p><p>Training is the life blood of the Reserve Defence Force. The part time soldier, or sailor, receives modern training, centered around weekly training parades, which are usually 2 hours in duration. There are also field-days, and overnights, usually once a month, along with a full-time training camp in the summer which is of up to 14 days in duration.</p><p></p><p><span style="font-size: 18px"><strong>Army Reserve</strong></span></p><p><img src="http://www.military.ie/typo3temp/pics/313e7ecf95.jpg" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" /></p><p></p><p>In the Army Reserve, every person is first and foremost a soldier and the training that they receive in their first few years reflects this. Every person who joins the Reserve must undergo the same recruit training. The development of the average person into a motivated and capable soldier is the goal of recruit training. In recruit training, soldiers undergo training in combat first aid, organisation of the Defence Forces, military law and tactical training.
