It is a famous Brian Hanrahan interview shot on Monday June 21, 1982 with members of 59 Independent Commando Squadron Royal Engineers who provided engineer support to and were part of 3 Commando Brigade Royal Marines. The interview, which describes soldiers losing limbs after the fighting was over, along with other interviews given to the press caused an uproar in the UK at that time. As a result mine clearing operations being carried by battle troops was halted saving further unnecessary loss of life and limb.</p><p></p><p>[MEDIA=youtube]p8S_dcgay_w[/MEDIA]</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p><span style="font-size: 22px"><strong>SS Canberra, the Return, July 11, 1982</strong></span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">This is a heavily edited version of the original live ITV broadcast of the Canberra returning to Southampton on July 11, 1982 after a three month voyage in the South Atlantic. Canberra was a key element of the British Task Force sent to liberate the Malvinas Islands from Argentine invasion. The edited version focuses on 3 Commando Brigade and 59 Independent Commando Squadron Royal Engineers.
