Battlecruiser Haruna was launched on December 14, 1913 at the Kawasaki Dockyards in Kobe. She would be commissioned on April 19, 1915 with her sister ship Kirishima. Haruna serving in the Imperial Japanese Navy right up to the end of the Second World War.

Sailors line the rails of HMS Hood as she prepares to depart Fremantle for Albany with the rest of the Special Service Squadron on March 1, 1924. Notice the folded flying-off platform on her B turret.
SMS Goeben. Caught in the Med at the outbreak of WWI she managed to completely humiliate the Royal Navy- avoiding a much larger force hunting her. She escaped to Turkey. Renamed Yavuz she remained with Turkey until 1973, when she was scrapped.
