ZA129 was lost after taking off as the number 4 in a night attack and it has been assumed that Lt Cdr Batt flew into the sea or that one of the bombs he was carrying fused and exploded.

ZA129 se perdió después de despegar como numeral 4, en un ataque nocturno y se supone que el Lt Cdr Batt voló hacia el mar o que una de las bombas que portaba se activó y explotó.

Si desea una copia del libro de David Morgan que detalla el incidente, por favor que envieme su dirección y le enviaré una copia, ya que tengo 2.

Ken, I have three friends who were air crew in the Argentine Air Force C130s and one who was Flight Engineer in the Navy Electra.

I was talking about those flights with the Electra's FE. He believes that the UK didn't want to shot down their flights.

That's is his believes. I asked about the altitude they were flying and he told me that it was extremely low and at night.
I will try to ask him if they had any device for alerting them about british radar illumination.
For what I was reading in Zona Militar, the Air Force had developed a very rudimetary radar warning receiver.

Ken, tengo tres amigos que eran tripulantes de los C130 de la Fuerza Aerea asi como un Ingeniero de Vuelo de los Electra de la Armada.

Estuve hablando con el FE de Electra sobre esos vuelos. El tiene la creencia que los ingleses no querian derribar a los vuelos de aprovicionamiento.
Ese es su pensamiento. Le pregunte sobre la altitud y me dijo que iban extremadamente bajo y de noche.
Le voy a preguntar si tenian algun tipo de sistema para detectar la iluminacion de los radares britanicos.

Por lo que he leido en Zona Militar, los C130 de la Fuerza Aerea tenian un rudimentario sistema RWR.

Le agradezco al forista Trap One, su muy generosa oferta de enviarme un libro de Dave Morgan, donde detalla el incidente en el que fallece el Lt Cdr Batt. Sinembargo, creo que no soy el mas feliz destinatario de este libro, ya que creo, seria mas provechoso para otros foristas.

Les pregunto, alguno de uds, lo tiene o necesita? Estoy pensando que patanglen, Silvio82, Thunder o Reydelcastillo, podrian aprovechar mas este gran gesto de Trap One.

Just two days ago I was talking with a retired navy Captain and Fokker commander during the war. He told me that one night he did a navigation mistake and the Fokker ended dangerously near the fleet. But, also he pointed (as you wrote) that he believes that the UK didn´t want to shot down supply flights.

Que tal Cometa. Dos días atrás estaba hablando con un CN (R) de la ARA, comandante de Fokker en la guerra. Me comentó que, aún cuando una vez casi pasan en vertical por la flota, no los bajaron. Está convencido que la Royal Navy no queria atacar vuelos de reabastecimiento.

No hace falta tirar ninguna moneda. Oscar ha demostrado una enorme generosidad al postearnos mucha información extraída de sus investigaciones y de su excelente libro.

Podría haberse guardado todo lo que gentilmente nos vino brindando hasta ahora a favor de mayores ventas de su libro o para futuras publicaciones. Sin embargo acá está desburrándonos y compartiendo su esfuerzo y su trabajo. Que no es poco.

Es sin ninguna duda, uno de los investigadores más serios entre los que publicaron libros en Argentina y eso merece nuestro reconocimiento y algún gesto por parte nuestra de agradecimiento. Creo que esta es una ocasión muy propicia para hacerlo.

Creo que en esto todos estamos de acuerdo. Si no se lo lleva uno de nuestros Veteranos, Oscar es quien más méritos tiene para que ese libro caiga en muy buenas manos.

Hi guys, I'm just reading this book and it's excellent, as Dave shows a very personal and human view of the war and also gives a lot of information. I also recommend a book that for me is the best written about the war: Forgotten voices of the Malvinas, by Hugh Mc Manners.

Creo que en esto todos estamos de acuerdo. Si no se lo lleva uno de nuestros Veteranos, Oscar es quien más méritos tiene para que ese libro caiga en muy buenas manos.

Realmente, es un honor que digan eso, pero tengo un pequeño problema: no leo con suficiente conocimiento el idioma inglés, me da bastante trabajo. Me parece que sería bueno que alguien que lo domine, lo tenga a mano. Después podemos preguntar.
