The Current Huyga Class “Helicopter Destroyers” operated by the Japanese Self Defence Force are too small to operate F35B effectively however I am guessing that the new 22DDH helicopter destroyer’s rumored to be in the 20,000 tone region will be able to operate F35B.I think it’s good news for the United Kingdom. We make more of the F35B variant than we do for the A and C and having more STOVL operators of the aircraft should give us more patterns to cooperate with in future on weapons integration and development.
