DAMASCUS, SYRIA (8:30 P.M.) - Preliminary reports from the Damascus suburb of Al-Hamah indicate that the Free Syrian Army (FSA) rebels have accepted the reconciliation proposal set forth by the Syrian government.
According to an Al-Masdar correspondent in Damascus, the terms set forth by the Syrian government include the Free Syrian Army's commitment to withdraw from certain points that overlook the town and to turn-in their heavy weapons to the Syrian Arab Army (SAA).
In exchange for this, the Syrian government will no longer shell the Free Syrian Army's positions and they will reopen the roads between Qudsiyah and Al-Hamah.
Recently, the militants in the nearby suburb of Al-Qudisiyah agreed to similar terms; it is believed that the rebels in the aforementioned suburb played an integral role in securing this agreement.
