May as well start with the Daddy of them all - Spitfire, undoubtedly the most famous aircraft of WW2. This is a Mk 1 with original fixed 2 blade propellor: most of these had been replaced by variable pitch 3 bladers by the end of May 1940.

Me 262s under cover and operating from the Munich - Salzburg autobahn in Southern Germany, March 1945. Almost untouchable once in the air, the revolutionary jets were actively targeted by allied fighter pilots when taking off and landing, hence their frequent dispersal away from recognised air bases.

Esta foto, procedente de las publicaciones de la época hmso, había sido titulado " spitfires puede tomar. Acribillado fighter hace aterrizaje seguro en italia ". Se cree que ser tomadas en 1944 y el avión es un spitfire mk. V, pero lamentablemente el nombre de el piloto no había sido grabada. Detalles del evento real también son desconocidos.
