Dear Mr Griffiths:
Thanks a lot for your observations and interest in all these questions.
As you probably know, the Republica Argentina, like other countries, for instance the United States, has still, to some extent, indigenous people, that is the people that lived here before Columbus arrived in America.
Sadly these things changed in the late 1800 (1890 to 1920), when huge quantities of inmigrants came from Europe, looking for our country, big enough for them all.
This fact, in conjunction with the so called "Desert Campaign", leaded by General Julio Roca, and intended to eliminate that indigenous people, same thing that happened in USA, caused that nowadays only a bunch of those people are still alive.
Millions of Italians, Spanish, French, German, Swiss, British and jewish people came to this country.
In the province of Chubut we also have a beautiful city, Trevelin, a place where welsh inmigrants came in the early 1900'
look at my surname: Valdez. my grandfather came from Spain. My grandmother was french, from Marseille, her surname was Dautel
So the Argentine's blood is today a wonderful mixture of cultures.
We have an amazing variation of colours, and even architectonically, we have for instance very colorful cities like Jujuy and Salta, very beautiful cities of clear indigenous origin, and, on the other hand, we have a metropolis like Buenos Aires, often called "the south american Paris". walking the streets of Buenos Aires you hardly can differenciate it from other big cities, like London or Paris.
best regards sir!!
